People involved in Mormonism adhere to this description:
"Mormonism: Mormonism comprises the religious, institutional, and cultural elements of the most populous branch of the Latter Day Saint movement. This movement was founded by Joseph Smith, Jr., in the 1830s and 1840s, and Mormonism represents the branch of that movement led by Brigham Young after Smith's death. This was sometimes called the 'Brighamite' branch of the faith. Mormonism is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), which is by far the largest denomination of the Latter Day Saint movement. Mormonism also includes Mormon fundamentalism, a tradition that continued to practice plural marriage after the LDS Church discontinued the practice around the turn of the 20th century. Mormonism further includes a few small sects that broke from the LDS Church in order to pursue a more liberal religious path. Non-'Brighamite' traditions within the Latter Day Saint movement, such as the Community of Christ, generally disavow the term Mormonism. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mormonism)"
Christians believe that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God which basically means that it is without error of any kind. We as humans may have a difficult time grasping some of the deeper nuggets buried in the Bible but that dose not mean something is untrue. Neither does denying anything (or everything) in the Bible in an attempt to justify one's own belief in Mormonism. As is told to us in the Book of Matthew, "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it." The cult of Mormonism appears to be a wide gate as mentioned in Matthew.
