People involved in Scientology adhere to this description:
"Scientology: Scientology is a body of beliefs and related practices created by L. Ron Hubbard (1911–1986), starting in 1952, as a successor to his earlier self-help system, Dianetics. Hubbard characterized Scientology as a religion, and in 1953 incorporated the Church of Scientology in Camden, New Jersey. Scientology teaches that people are immortal beings who have forgotten their true nature. Its method of spiritual rehabilitation is a type of counselling known as auditing, in which practitioners aim to consciously re-experience painful or traumatic events in their past in order to free themselves of their limiting effects. Christians believe that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God which basically means that it is without error of any kind. We as humans may have a difficult time grasping some of the deeper nuggets buried in the Bible but that dose not mean something is untrue. Neither does denying anything (or everything) in the Bible in an attempt to justify one's own belief in Scientology. As is told to us in the Book of Matthew, "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it." The cult of Scientology appears to be a wide gate as mentioned in Matthew.
