If you were given the opportunity to share Jesus Christ to the millions of children in the 80,000 public schools across the United States, would you seize the opportunity? You can, and we MUST! In 2001, there were 47,575,862 students enrolled in public elementary schools across America. That’s more than the population of Afghanistan (28,717,213). More than the population of Iraq (24,683,313) and even more than the population of Kenya (31,639,091).
On June 11, 2001 the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that “separation of church and state” did not justify that district schools can discriminate against religious speech. What does this mean in layman’s terms? This means that as soon as the last school bell rings, the church can go in and conduct Bible studies in the public school arena! Child Evangelism Fellowship has been doing this since this landmark decision and has been conducting Good News Clubs once a week from October through April. Right now, these Good News Clubs are in 1,346 public elementary schools across America. Although this is wonderful, this only constitutes 2% of the elementary schools in the United States. ETI has been in contact with CEF to see how we can join hands to help reach the other 98%. With your help we can reach an entire generation where they are-at school! For more information contact ETI (407-443-8590) or CEF (407-896-7288). We’re looking for churches to “adopt a school” while this effectual door has been opened to us.
Please pray
* We have a training scheduled in Punta Gorda, Florida on May 5-6. They have been inviting many other churches and promoting the upcoming training on the radio.
* Another training is set for Southside Baptist Church in Ft. Pierce, Florida on May 20-21. We will be training a group of summer missionaries going to Jamaica. * We are still waiting on the timing and much needed provisions regarding an open door to train many pastors in India. * URGENT!! In order to bring the vision to reality, we need an additional $5,000 a month to meet the growing needs of this ministry. We desperately await His provisions.
Update
Because of your faithfulness, there were 25 people who accepted Jesus this past month. We are blessed to see lives changed during our Thursday evening Bible study. Also we rejoice to see God’s hand in the jail ministry. He seems to be opening a new avenue to reach multitudes of inmates.
Thank you so much for believing in us and supporting this ministry! We love and appreciate each and every one of you! Remember, “GOD has called us to be fishers of men, not keepers of aquariums” So keep the lines in the water and keep fishing (Matthew 4:19; Psalm 37:4-5; Proverbs 3:5-6))!
Your friend and co-laborer in Jesus,
