Dear Co-laborers to the Kingdom,
We continue to press onward as we make plans to reach the next generation with the Gospel. Most pastors are aware of "911", but few are aware of "611". "611" was a monumental day (June 1, 2001) when the Supreme Court ruled that it was perfectly legal to have Bible clubs in the public schools. Statistics reveal that at the current rate of decline, within 2-3 years only 4% of this next generation growing up will be Christian. How would you like to see an America with 96% unbelievers? You are probably aware more everyday how our children are exposed to humanism and intollerance for the Christian faith all across our land. We, the church, cannot sleep or stick our heads in the sand and pretend the problem doesn't exist. The problem is very serious and very real! Yet, on the other hand, it's facinating to see how the LORD is preparing the hearts of so many believers (ministries included) to attack this problem head on. GOD has opened "an open and effectual door" to the church and we must seize this opportunity while the door remains open! Our strategy, at ETI is to bring three entities together:the local church, the public school, and Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF). The Bible Clubs established by CEF are a once a week, after school time, at school, for kids to hear the gospel and learn about the Christian life. These clubs have proven very successful to the mission of reaching young people. Out of 80,000 elementary schools in the U.S., these Bible Clubs are in 2,000 of them. In light of this, ETI is agressively planning and preparing. Our part, at ETI, will be to motivate the local church to adopt a school and enlist them to reach the school children in their areas. We will then meet with their local elementary school and inform them how this program with benefit their school. As we, ETI, match up the commitment of the churches with their local schools, CEF will then train the churches how to lead the Bible Clubs. We are excited to see children come to Christ and ETI will assist in training these children to reach others for Christ in their schools and homes. Pray for wisdom as we prepare and that the LORD would raise up volunteers for this monumental adventure. If you are at all interested or have any wisdom to share, we would love to hear from you.
The LORD also continues to do wonderful things in the jail, our weekly Bible study in Clermont, and through many contacts by way of the web. If you haven't checked out the website, I'd encourage you to do so. Several resources are available to you on the website; including all of our radio broadcasts featuring sharing your faith with the cults. Because of your faithful prayers and support, there were 27 people who accepted Christ this past month. PLEASE continue to pray as we desperately await God's provisions for an additional $5000 a month to help bring visions to reality. God is working and we look forward to what He has planned ahead within the next few months.
PLEASE PRAY FOR:
* September 3-13, 2006, South Africa trip to train the nationals. The trip will cost $3000. We need to raise the money as soon as possible to make all the preparations.
* We need wisdom and open doors as we prepare to speak to churches and school authorities to match them up, hopefully, for the coming school year.
* Finances are also needed to restart the radio broadcasts. We desire to broadcast in our local area of Orlando.
* Thursday night Bible study in Clermont for changed lives.
* Continued jail ministry to reach many inmates.
* We’re looking for someone who can help us get the training on DVD. It’s always been our dream to have a user-friendly training kit available.
Thank you, again, for all of your prayers, work, and financial support (Philippians 4:13-20). We sincerely love and appreciate each one of you! God Bless as we continue to reach our world for Christ.
Your brother, co-laborer, and friend in Jesus,
Dave Hook
Often, to be right with GOD means to be in trouble with men. How true! Many times you can determine GOD’s will about something by observing how much resistance you receive from the enemy (see 2 Timothy 3:12; Matthew 5:10-12; 1 Peter 4:14). The devil will do everything he can to thwart GOD’s offensive kingdom. Chuck Swindoll said, “The flack is always thickest near the center of the target.” When adversity comes, press on! When apathy surrounds you and scorns you, press on! When you feel like throwing in the towel, press on (Galatians 6:9; 1 Corinthians 15:58)! God’s kingdom is an everlasting kingdom and will always prevail. I’ve read the last page of GOD’s Word, and we win because of HIM!
Please pray
Because of your faithful prayers and support, there were 27 people who prayed to receive Jesus as their Savior!
Just a final thought: Don’t count the years of your life, let the years of your life count.
